picco .28s are awesome motors. I have 2, they are easy to tune and super powerfull. it is an italian motor and great bang for the buck. way better than an axial. the only faster .28s I've seen cost 2x as much.

Ok question? Were you drunk when you left this reply???
The picco is probably the most powerful motor you can buy for under $200. At 2.03 hp STOCK unmodded and over 80oz of torque early and throughout alot of the powerband I can not see a better motor. They pull revs nearing 40k mark. They are made in italy last time I checked as well. Never heard of one failing. Early picco's had o-ring issues the P3 has those issues sorted out. Amazing high quality motors. Never heard of one lasting less then 6 gallons. Most last much more. Better then any axial motor, or LRP, or mach 427.

I am sorry my dear despot, if I have offended you!
but I have run and/or tuned axials, losis, hpis, OS, traxxas, AEs, ofnas/piccos, nova rossis, trinitys, cens, plus a few other off brands I can't remember, duratrax/thunder tiger, oh, and sportwerks.
And would reccomend a trinity, nova rossi, or OS over any picco any day.

trinity? like wasp motors? please, they're the worst.
OS .30s don't last for crap. I can't speak for their new .28, but it's a lot more $ than a picco.
novas are bad ass for sure, but literally twice as much.

And would reccomend a trinity...
Which in the history of Trinity have been rebadged Piccos at some point.
I had an Ofna/Picco .26 in my Savage years ago and it was an excellent engine. You can't go wrong with that line.

I have never had one of these engines, but my buddy has, and he said it's the best bang for the buck, and very easy to tune.

All piccos have crummy carbs. I have no idea why but they do. It's just their trademark I guess...
Anyway, they're pretty much always great engines. Usually if you get the o-rings sorted out, the carbs are okay. They're usually a little finicky but they're definitely livable.

so it's a "livable" engine, why not spend extra money and get a good engine!?!

I don't know about previous models, but I've had 3 P-3s and no carb troubles at all.

I've found the Picco carbs with the two little screws that hold the HSN to the carb body to be total garbage but the ones that are one piece are decent. You just need to RTV around the base to seal it to the block.
