i should have my T maxx next week (i hope) and there is something wrong with the engine. i can be more spcifect when i get it in my hands, anyway i have a force .26 that still has some life in it, can i somehow put this engine in without have to get a big block conversion kit? what kind of crank will i need if i buy a new engine?

If you want to mod it to basically do the same exact thing as a BB kit. If you buy a new engine, any small block should fit.

personally, i would keep a small block in the maxx for pure reliability factor. Big power, big torque, big breaking. The truck really runs good wit the 3.3, or the O.S. 18 in my opinion. anything more, and grab your wallet, you're gonna need it.

i noticed that you got the .15 tmaxx so if you want to put a bigger engine in it i would change the suspension or get wheel extentions and the chassis is too short, you could always run a os cvx 15 in it they perform well and then by the middle of the summer you could switch everything over

i looked at the 3.3 and the o.s .18tm. only 10.00 difference in price. which is better?

you will probualy get longer life out of the os , they have about the same power

i got the truck yesterday, its in very good shape, its got a spool in the rear diff and the regular diff came with it. which is better for just everyday bashing? about the engines, my LHS seems to think that the 3.3 or the .18TM would distory the drivetrain, probly go with the .15cvr-x. gonna go mess with it some and see if it'll run

the drive shafts might give you some trouble, you wont be dissapointed in the cvr-x all you have to do is use a 66 tooth spur gear , like the stock one from the stampede and you will have enuff take off power thats what i used when the maxx first came out before the 2.5 and it did real good like that the engine has good power

if you still have the traxxas .15 engine try this dynamite carb http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=DYN6550
it make the traxxas .15 run awsome easier to tune and better power range, the traxxas carb has a plastic end cap on it and overtime the plastic dries out and leaks air, overall just have fun the tmaxx truck is a blast i have three of them and love them all
