I'm just getting started with RC boats and having fun with my Proboat mini Vee. When I upgarde to a bigger faster boat, which one would you recommend and why?
Thanks

Without doubt - get a Aquacraft SuperVee 27. This boat is much faster and larger for bigger/rougher water, and it works (you'd be surprised at how many RTR FE boats are toys that don't work well)! You can find an SV27 used for much less than new, although for the new price they are still a bargain for what you get - brushless motor, good ESC, excellent designh and speed in the 30s to low 40s. :D The Aquacraft Hammer is not as fast, but it is less expensive and a step up from your minivee.

Thanks for the advice. The SuperVee looks good. What battery packs do you recommend? Where do you buy your batteries?

I can add my 2 cents in here after taking 2 years to get another boat.
The Super vee is great is you want straight line performance and don't care about tight spaces.
The construction on the super vee is fiber glass so it's not that forgiving for a newer person that may beach it or bump into things or someone elses boat.
I have a Traxxas Villian and the super vee and I have to say I like the Villian EX better.
Steering is hands down better and the handling is just like the real thing.
The super Vee awesome with the right prop on it.
Out of the box needed some tuning before I could get it to go like crazy.
Turning this boat is just not there rubber control is just crappy.
On another note the Black Jack Brushless 26 is ok but I have heard about problems with the drive unit.
Check them all out and see what works best for you before you buy the SV-27.
I frankly do not like mine other then it's super fast in a straight line.
Batteries anything 3800 or higher seems to work well for me of a good brand name of course!
Good luck with you decision
