There is a lot of talk (on other forums) about Traxxas' 70mph Rustler and Losi's new 65+mph Speed-T running this year. If we were to bring one of these this year, what class would they run in? Is there a Stadium truck class? They are not Monster Trucks are they?
Thanks.

I for one dont agree with having too many classes but we do need to keep the interest for people with buggies, trucks and truggies so think there should be at least one class. I cant see how they will be seperated so think the class should be called just open wheel truck class.

It would be difficult to set the rules so the technical inpsection on the day can say if a truck is a truck or something else.

The way the rules are now. If it has the right size tires and truck body it should be allowed in the monster truck class.
Could this mean a stadium truck, touring car, pan car, or anything. SURE COULD!

Here is the rules I saw.

Tire size: Tires must have a minimum 130mm diameter and 70mm width. Foam tires are allowed. There is no rule regarding sidewall height.

Body type: Any body type that can be identified as a truck (stadium, pickup or SUV) is permitted. The wheels must be OUTSIDE the body, not tucked into fender wells or skirted.

Should be interesting to see if the rules get a little more fine tuned or not.

The way I see it is that its pretty hard to quantify what a truck is. I would like people to compete with truck as there are a lot of them sold so you are going to get a few guys trying to make them go fast. In doing so they look more and more like on road cars and this is the problem.

Look at this

This is a Kyosho Inferno GT with foam tyres, low suspension and a full lola shell. Its entered into the truck class but wont make it with that body.

Yes, I would like to race my buggy if there is a class for that.
