My trusty Plano 7271 has been a great little pit box. Gave me the room for what I needed, and with a couple trays slid out, I could even hide my radio in there. I got a great deal on my box, for 70% off, and at $34.99 normal price, that was a huge discount.

BUT, the time to step up had come. I needed more room. I searched for another tackle/pit box,but the shock factor on cost was overwhelming. $80.00,..and UP!:huh:
Enter the Stanley Mobile Work Center:

and a nice deep mid section.

With much more room, I as able to carry all my gear, plus support I couldnt get before.
That's 2 Radios, Dremel, Fuel bottle, and a Quart of fuel in there! Nice.

Now, for the cars......
http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m8/z-man280/P3050148Small.jpg
and lastly, the top.
http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m8/z-man280/P3050143Small.jpg
With more storage, i can slide the trays from the Plano in, carry charger, spare tires, ect., all in ONE box! So much easier than lugging a pitbox, demel case, radio box, ect......
A small swing out tray also aids in those screws, shock springs, ect., that we need at a moments grab.
http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m8/z-man280/P3050150Small.jpg
and but best of all...It's mobile.

Available at Home Depot, this has been a great addition to my R/C stable. It not only keeps all my gear handy, but with the handle and nice big wheels, it goes everywhere behind me with ease.
With a price of $29.99, it's almost impossible to NOT find this an amazing deal!

30 bucks? I need to get me one of those. I store my trucks in these big ol' tupperware box things, and I can only fit one truck per tupperware thing.

+1. I have the same one with the plastic latches, and am missing one of them. What really sucks is that Stanley lists the replacement part on their site, but they're out. It's like a giant tease.
BTW: Walmart sells 'em too. $25 last time I looked.

Just took a ride to Home Depot and picked one up! I had the same Plano tackle box as you Ron. This box is alot better and looks like it can fit a decent amount of things. Plano boxes are good, but when you want a big one, they cost more than $30. I'm going to fill my new box up today and see how much I can get in there. Thanks for sharing a great box for a great price!

I've had the Stanley Workbox for about 4 yrs now (mine's Black/Yellow) It's served it's purpose for about 2+ yrs, then started to get brittle/fragile in the bitter lake-effect winters, and cracked when handled.
An excellent pit-box for SURE, but definitely not a good on-the-job toolbox. hehe
