View Full Version : Resonator pipe worth the hype?

i got the stock plastic pipe on my 3.3 maxx, is the resonator pipe that much better? wheres the power made at with it?

the resonator pipe is made for the revo it doesnt fit the t-maxx i was thinking the same thing when i got my t-maxx

i put an MIP pipe on my t-maxx and it made a pretty big difference, it also made my t-maxx sound better. the MIP pipe was $70 at the time i got it, but it was well worth it

i would posts some pics of my t-maxx but i dont know how to lol
ill post some if someone can help me find out how to post my pics

duratrax makes a pipe for around 35 and it works great and there is always ebay i just got a siro pipe for 9.47 shipped it was used but it looks and works great

You can get a Resonator pipe that fits the TMaxx. There is a Resonator for all Traxxas models.

It is definitely better than the stock pipe.

You can also mod the Resonator to get a little extra power.

The resonator makes a little more power down low, but it really shines mid-high. It's nice and smooth and driveable power. Awesome pipe for a race truck.
For brute power, I still like that old Sirio pipe. RB bought them out and sells it under their name now. Should be able to find it on tower. They SCREAM everywhere. You have to be careful though, the top end usually ends up 5-5.5 turns out after installation. The traxxas pipe will retain near stock needle settings.
