is this a new setup? has it ever worked before?
im definetly no computer wiz but it has always been pretty self explaining for me when I set it up. Ive done it on 3 diffrent computers and it was pretty easy.
If its the first time you used it on this computer maybe your controller is updated to the new firmware, when I changed computers last my controller was updated but I hadnt updated the castle link on the new computer. It wouldnt communicate until I downloaded the new castle link version.

It should literally be plug and play. Dumb question, but if you're using this on a sidewinder/mamba 25/sidewinder micro, do you have the receiver plug plugged in the right way? And is there a battery connected to the ESC? Make sure there's no battery plugged in, and everything is connected properly.
Did the drivers install also? That could be another reason why you're having issues.

I'm glad you specified which ESC you have because they're all different...
Mamba 25/Sidewinder should be the same... Make sure the switch is turned on and everything else unplugged... except for the castlelink of course.
Mamba Max: Plug it in, switch off, should work.
Otherwise, are you using a front USB port? If so, try a back one. Make sure to try every combination of plugging it in, starting the program, and plugging in the ESC.

I run Windows 2K and it is missing some files that the link software needs to run. I believe you may need dotnetfx.exe (or something along those lines) and something else. I'm sure the latest version of the link software will tell you if you need any "prerequisits".

Try this link....I know the driver can be a little quirky.....good luck.

nah it ended up being my damn usb port, as soon as I switched it to another one it worked great. the only problem now is I had to send my sidewinder and motor back to castle, it was working great, but my case seperated and shut it down again, this is the second time this happened
