Well the car is all packed up ready to go for tomorrow. I have the V2RRR working 100% but the 50% fuel never turned up so its straight 25%
The guinness car is together but one of the LiPOs went missing so I have 5 cell 19v instead of 23V.
We will also be doing a street race event. From a standing start 2 cars race to a bollard 150ft away and back over the line. Winner makes it thorugh to the next round until we get a winner. I'm taking my Custom Inferno GT and the Kyosho V1RRR with a murnan modified OSTZP 18 in it.
We have a 15ft tower to see down the track and an infra red speed trap that can measure in 0.01mph plus a static radar gun with a large backlit external display for backup.
Now the bad news.... The weather will be bad.... Damn.
If we get some dry runs in I am going to test the RRR with 4wd and 2wd with gyro plus the guiness car with gyro.
I dont have the Alien 2 ready yet but this will be ready to go by the next practice event on April 27th
Cheers

Man what a day. It rained so bad the river burst its banks and i had to make a detour to get tot he track. The whole place was flooded out and it was raining up until 11 am.
It started to dry and we managed a few runs but the bad start put us on the back foot. My starter box blew up and the receiver packed up.
I only managed 84 with the V2RRR as the pipe gave extra power but narrowed the power band so much that the car stalled when changing into 2nd. I tried reducing the gearing but by that time the guys wanted to leave and they took the starter box with them.
The rustler had heat cut out problems and managed 73 mph. ALl is all a learning day but we had fun after all. We will all be back better prepared for the next one

So sorry the day was a 'washout' (I crack myself up sometimes!) but every time we run our cars, whether the results are good or bad, we learn something.

The weather was bad at first but dried up later. We got some runs in and the timing gear was perfect all day.
I managed to learn some things from the single engine car adn will be putting that right

So now the GOOD news!
Long Marston Airfield is going ahead to lay a new surface to the complete airfiled to be used for the driver dream days cars as a race surface. This means we will have a brand new super smooth surface for the September speed event that will be 3/4 mile long!!

Good job guys. Way to stick it out and run. These practice sessions are good to get all the bugs out. But some people run into concrete blocks and make more bugs. ;)

After the event in Fontana it was obvious most people had not tested their cars at all and were running blind, including me so thats why i setup the practice sessions as most people only have a short distance to check their cars. You need to run it at near full speed to get the bugs out
