i find if you hold a goat under water long enough they do drown but other than that they are quite waterproof.

hmm good question im gonna guess at not but what if you too the motor.. sealed the other motor mount holes with some rubber cement or something
and dipped the motor into plastidip or something to seal the can/endbell.

o so "sealed endbell" means its virtually watertight except for the motor screw holes, on any motor if its sealed endbell, right?

That can be a huge misconception.
Sealed endbell refers to the endbell design. Like a Mabuchi silver can, or the Traxxas Titan or Stinger.
Novak does claim water resitant on the ESC, but that doesn't mean waterproof. If yo uwant to go completely underwater, look for a waterproof ESC, if you fry this one, and send it in, they have the loophole there with water "resistant"...not "proof".

^^Right^^. The only ESCs that I know of to be labeled fully waterproof are Mtroniks' stuff. Novak uses gaskets on their GTB, XBR, and most likely the Goat. So, with that being said, if it's under water for a few seconds by accident, I don't think it'll hurt anything. If you run constantly in and out of submersion, then I don't think the Novak is the way to go at all.

i completly forgot about the mtronics stuff
personally if your FULLY submerging go mtronics brushless with a feiago brushless motor

I wouldn't reccomend it. I have had my SS5800 get splashed and it works just fine, but I would never submerge it due to the sensors and PCB board hiding under the rear endbell cap.
You can email Novak and find out though for sure.

Novak motors have nice, well-built cases but there is no sealant between the endbell and can or anything like that. Not to mention the front bearing and such. I don't worry at all about splashes with my SS5800 motor but I bet water could find a way to seep in there if I was too careless.

^^Agreed^^
I definitely like my Novak motor. I'm contemplating buying another Novak motor if the 5800 runs well on the mamba max with the new firmware.:D
