View Full Version : Looking for CA Glue and Body Reamer recommendations

Strange question I suppose but I am looking for recommendations for a body reamer that will cut clean holes and not have to be financed. Also looking for some good CA glue for touring wheels/tires.

I had a AE reamer for years and worked pretty well. Got out of the hobby and sold it, dumb. Last year I bought a Dubro reamer because it was cheap. It is the biggest piece of poop I ever bought in 20 years of buying rc stuff. It's good for cutting jagged holes and that's about it.

What do you guys suggest??

Losi standard (blue bottle) tire glue.
I have a "patriot rc" reamer. I think they're all the same any more. Just don't get the cheap Dynamite one. It's crap. The tip is too dull to poke. :)

rccardude, thanks and I will note your suggestions. One thing your responces did remind me of though, is the fact I forgot to mention it would help if the items were available at Tower hobbies since that's where I do the majority of my buying. I also buy from Ultimate Hobbies, speedtech, and eBay, but this next order is coming from Tower so it would be helpful if it's a brand they carry.

thanks

If I insist on Tower, when I searched Reamer it came up:

Axial $13.99
Duratrash 17.99
HPI 16.59
Integy 22.79
Ofna 18.39
THS 18.39

If I had to blindly pick one, the axial looks as nice as any for 13.99, but I hate picking blindly. Anyone have experience with any of those listed?

Another vote for Losi glue. Because of the metal tip in the cap, you get to use your bottle of glue more than once!

For body holes, nothing beats a drill bit. Just use something sharp or with a small point to get it going so it doesnt wander. the bits that do that for you cost about as much as a reamer itself.

I really want a reamer. I won't disagree with you about the drill bit though because I've done that quite a bit, and used a dremel cone shaped fine grinding bit to clean it up with. Now my dremel croaked. Only lasted 15 years, what a piece of junk LOL :D j/k....

I'm in the same boat. I get most of my stuff from tower. I need a reamer. Next order I'm getting the "duratrash" one. The axial one is cheap but it also doesn't have as large of a diameter reamer like the rest. And for glue I bought Duratrax medium ca. Works good, and the tip didn't dry up after using it.

If I may offer another opinion, you might look into a Uni bit or universal bit...They make them for all applications and I have a kit that has three size bits ranging from 1/16" to 1" and the smallest bit in the kit goes from 1/16" to 5/8" and it works just like a body reamer however it attaches to a drill..I have used them for years reaming out bodies and they work perfect and they sand the holes as they cut...Lowe's, Home Depot, they all have them.. I have attached a link in case no one knows what they are..

Thanks guys. That uni bit looks worth while. I've seen pictures of guys using them and never knew what it was.....

another +1 for the duratrax reamer, that sucker is the ish it cut's a hole like a hot knife through butter and the edges are smooth unlike my friend's du-bro reamer

No idea on the reamer.
I bet the Pro-Line glue is the same as the Losi. Just make sure to get the medium instead of the thin. The medium stuff seems to hold better.

I think the Pro-line is the same I have used both and I see no difference.

Yep, just like I said in the original post, that DuBro reamer is absolute junk. It's not worth 2 squirts of owl poop.
