The Rustler VXL is a very rugged, good truck. It's not really racing-oriented but for casual track driving or any sort of playing around you want to do, it should be awesome. I don't own one myself but I hang out on forums where lots of people do.

The VXL has quite a few hop-ups in it that would normally be extra on your older XL-1 rusty, Xray. Metal gear trans, turnbuckles w/ heavy duty ends, bigger bearings, revo style slipper, HEX bolts!( YAY!) , and a hi torque servo to boot. So, the money you would spend to build it up tougher, is already done for ya.

The only thing that I found is when you are sliding sideways at 60+ MPH with your rustler vxl you are going to break something..I have replaced my front Caster Blocks to Aluminum and have not had a problem since. You need straight roads or parking lots with lots of space if you are staying on road.

Oh PS: Went through two sets of the plastic ones

Awsome what batterys should I use. I was thinking of a 5000nimh venom. I don't any more lipos yet.

I would use at least a minimum of 7 cells Ni-Mh if that is how you are going to power it..Use the highest Mah you can afford... If it is 5000 for now then great that will give you some good run time but you have to get those volts up to have the real fun...I am using the rustler on 11.1 or 3S with 8000mah and it is a beast!

With NiMH you should go for the quality of the cells versus all-out capacity. I know of no "good" (i.e. race-quality and brushless-worthy) 5000 mAh NiMH cells. Check out EP4600's or EnerG 4600's though. I forget if IB has a good cell with higher capacity than the 4200, or if they went bust.

Don't underestimate how fun 6 good cells can be.

??batterys?? Me cunfuze. 7 to 8 cells, I don't know that much about batterys. I gust got lipos and im reading a lot of informashen for lipo batterys so that they don't blow up on me.

Batteries? I'm confused. 7 to 8 cells? I don't know that much about batteries. I just got LiPos and I'm reading a lot of information for them so that they don't blow up on me.

Even now that it's in English, I still don't know what you're asking in the first part of that post.

Seriously dude, do you go to school?

I strongly recommend you tell us what lipo pack you have bought and what charger you have to charge it.

Also tell us how you think your going to charge the pack and we will tell you weather you have understood the information you have read properly.

I recommend that you tell us that what they bought Lipo pack, and you have to load the shipper.

Also tell us how you think you are going to pay for the package and you know if you have the information you have read correctly.

I have two 3200 core-rc lipo batteries and the charger is the ice charger with power supply.

I was thinking to get some new batteries for the rustler vxl and I cindu don't want lipo batteries yet so im thinking of getting nimh.

I don't know what tipe of mahs I want but I want something powerful.

In the manual, there are instructions for how to wire up a brushed motor.

Ok thanks but I know how to set it up but I want to now do I gust tape the plugs in because they won't stay in place

ElectricThunder

NO! Do not do that. You need the proper sized bullet connectors on your motor. 3.5 or 4.0mm male connectors are what you need (forgot which size off the top of my head).

hmm ok well trying to get my head around what the hell this thread is about but basically for the vxl's i don't think 3200 mah lipos have the guts to deal with the current demands from that system.

You did mention you had two of them in which case you could wire them in parallel to effectively make a 6400mah battery which would have enough gonads for a vxl rustler.

Other than that i would recomend a 6 cell NIMH non intellect battery pack the new EP battery's are known to be good cells.

Guys I am closing this thread. Far too much bashing going on than useful help. This isn't what we are about.
