Dented Lipo Cell

Hey all,
So i got my Second Lipo pack for running in m truggy today and when i look at it it seens that there is an inconsistency to the packaging, it looks like eitehr one of the cells is dented or the card wrapping arround the cell is folded or something, either way, i need to know what is up with this pack, is it safe to use and is there any sign of a damaged cell to look out for? the dent isnt huge but better safe than sorry!

How big is the dent? From a paranoid point of view, I'd say don't even bother running it, and return it for a replacement if you can. That's just my opinion though.

Try checking voltage to see if anything is a bit sketchy.

strange thing is, this one is the replacement of the first one that had a duff cell! so now i need a replacement of the replacement??? lol i guess you get what you pay for with a $25.00 battery!.

the dent doesnt look too deep, will try an get a pic asap.

if the dent is only a 1 or 2 mm, it should be okay.. but myself, I would send them the picture and just get them to replace it...

well after reading up on the net i found out if it is dented badly it may short internally and explode at any minute, so i removed part of the shrink rap to see if it is the card or the cell thats damaged, turns out whoever assembled the pack was careless and just did a bad job, cells look fine (Ish).

lets just hope it works well in the car!

Yeah, I guess you do get what you pay for eh?

This is why I'm considering a Neu Energy pack as a future (long time away future) upgrade from the 4500mah lipo I have now.
