Has anyone tried one of these? They seem to be in stock at various places, though i have not heard much about them.

I was about to, but I opted for a different motor instead.
From what I've gathered across the 'net, these redline sensorless motors are absolute stump pullers. They'd probably be good for a 3s setup for at least the lower kv motors. I asked about them on Tekin's forum, but never really got any technical info as to why their lower turn motors (with the exception of one of their 2 and 3 turn motors) have such low kvs for being relatively low turn motors (their 6 turn motor has a kv of something like 3200 or about there).

Haha nice timing, I just posted this on RC monster forum Copy/paste
Hello,
I did a small movie to show how Tekin motor work with a Mamba max, the car is messy because I did run on the my local race track before.
I will try do a movie there too.
Youtube kill quality, I have a decent webhosting, movie is about 10 MB in Xvid.

I think better acceleration is achievable easily with Lipo and more agressive ESC setup, but it's already more than enought to race with the big dogs (1/8).
As you can see there is hardly any cogging,
and you can ear the start-up routine of MM taking over when motor slow down too much when hitting the curb,
I keep the small throttle value at this moment.

how are the temps?
Basically I am deciding between a 537 Redline (3700kv) or a Reedy Stock Spec 8.5 turn motor (4800 kv) for up to 4s lipo in my xxx-4 and the mm esc. (so i can run the same pack that i use in my 1/8 buggies (probably a nue energy 4100 30c pack). I would like the motor to be able to handle 50+ mph speeds all day long. I'm pretty certain the reedy motor will be capable of this, but if the Redline can too, that would be better since i hear that the redline motors probably run much quiter. It's actually quit nice to have practically noiseless setup that is fast enough to look as if it could float off the ground at any moment. This was the case with my feigao 380c 9t on 3s, but I wasn't exactly comfortable with the temps and quality of the motor was terrible.

I can't tell you accuratly, but the motor is just warm after 6 or 7 min of a good offroad run. Mamba max is maybe around 50/55 C°. In fact that setup is cold compared to my previous Combo N80 + MM.
I'm running default spur gear + 23 teeth.
