Need a quick answer on gearing.

I have an HPI MT2 18SS+ on it's way, and need to order the motor and pinion for it so that I can get it together right away.

I have a question about the gearing. I will probably use the stock spur which is 49t.

What pinion would you suggest for this? I'm going to run a Feigao 8l or 9l on 3s mostly, occasionaly 4s (I don't want to smoke the diffs right away).

Need some quick help with this so I can place my order.

Try 14-16T pinions, you might be able to use a bigger, but this is a starting point. Feigaos are somewhat picky and you need to try out different pinions to see which one will give you a cool running motor. I've heard people who run a bigger pinion with success and I've heard of people who had success with smaller pinions.
