I am putting a Slash on order and Which system would be better for it...MM 5700 or the 4600? And Where would be a good starting point with Gearing..
My best guess tells me the 4600 W/27/28 pinion 83 spur on 7 cell and 30/31 pinion 82/83 spur on 3S 8000mah The Track That I have in my back yard is long Straights W/ Monster Jumps so Bottom End May be the answer..

I have a Rustler, which is a cousin of the Slash essentially, with a MM5700. It's pretty beastly as it is, but with the Slash's higher ground clearance and what looks to be a narrower width, I'd say get a 4600 to reduce the chances of flipping on your lid, and also for cooler running. The 4600 would probably fair much better offroad in the slash than the 5700 too.

You're welcome. If you find that the 4600 isn't enough, there's always a bigger pinion or more voltage....:D In fact, I regret getting the 5700 over the 4600...:(

More voltage is the answer:D never enough power...
I just ordered the 4600...YEA!
I need that truck now, I think this will be a good platform for racing.
Thanks

Looks like a neat little truck. For the price I'd rather get a Firestorm 10T (I like the sealed transmission), however; the Slash is just really neat looking. It looks like a GREAT little offroader for some relatively rock free dirt.
I wonder how it'd do on the beach....:D

HAHA. My Rustler is a bat out of hell with a MM5700 on 6 cell IB4200 (I've since upgraded to 2s lipo...:D) and some sand paddles. Turning is an issue in the loose stuff though (just some crappy ribbed front tires)....haha!
I have a new motor awaiting me at home; 4800 kv and 4 poles (essentially a friggin' torque monster) that is waiting to go into the Rustler for some testing.:D
