Here is the motor based on the Neu, but has beefed up bearings and no cooling holes. It is 2200 KV motor. They said it will go on sale in Two weeks.

Very Nice! I can see the changes castle made to the nue motors. The fins don't appear to go out as far and the holes in the endbells are covered. Looks pretty good. In terms of novak conversions, I don't see how 8ight version can be properly balanced with the battery all the way on ones side of the chasis and the motor mostly on the same size of the battery.;

Wow ... Castle knows what we want that's for sure... And so does Traxxas.
Monster Mamba E-Revo on 6s? I'm not sure there's an r/c vehicle cooler than that.

Did they say the MOTOR would be available in 2 weeks? or ESC only?
Also, that seems to be a 1515/1/y. Any idea whether they'll be offering a 1512 length can?

That is a 1515/1Y equiv. motor. We will also be offering a 1512/1Y equiv. motor. The 1515/1Y is 2200Kv, and we will also be offering a 1512/1Y at 2600Kv.

By the way -- motors will not be available until the end of May / early June at the soonest.
ESC will be available in the beginning of May.

Sounds about right. When I spoke to the rep at castle they said about 2 months for the motor.
Curious, why going with such a KV difference between teh 1512 model and the 1515? Also, what advantage did you see going with a Y style versus say the D style? (2.5D in particular).
I am very underwelmed by Novaks conversion there. Looks like wayy too much weight on one side with that battery tray way out there. Seems with the way the 8ight is setup, you could get even better balance than many other nitros.
