No official press release yet, but here are some pics of XTM Super class rock crawler. As you can see, it's all aluminum. It uses a typical four link suspension and movable lower shock mounts allow you to adjust ride height. The axles contain gear boxes, so two motors will be required. This design should yield no torque twist, so it should be an excellent climber.

it's great that there are new crawlers coming out. bet it seems that all the new crawlers have very generic chassis's. if they want to sell these things, lets see some kind of innovation. granted the axles are very stud, it just doesn't do much for me.

though your right, but I dont think you can change much in the crawler setup theres the super crawler, crawler, and scale crawler they talk about it at the monster truck RCCA site other than that nothing can be chnaged except the combos such as wheels, bodies, etc...

ive been running an xtm(Great Vigour in the uk) rally-x buggy for 3 years with no breakages at all, think i will have one of these when they are available, it looks super capable and will save me building a super class to go with my scorpions.:D

You're kidding, right? There are infinite crawler setups. Torsion, droop, sprung, leafed, 3-link/4-link, link spacing and angle, if all of these don't make different setups then I don't know what does. The chassis on this looks too much like the Scorpion, which looks too much like some generic 2005 chassis. Hellhound is right, there doesn't seem to be much thought into this.

I'm not feeling the aluminium rod ends, either. Anyone will tell you that they wear very bad and become very notchy very quick. If XTM had stuck with plastic, it would be cheaper to make and sell and ppl wouldn't think twice about ripping it apart.

The axles look great though. The Cs look pretty low profile, strong servo mounts, link mounts, very nice. Can't really see the ground clearance under the gearboxes, but it has to be better than clods

As for performance, call me crazy but I'm going to reserve judgement until I get one on the rocks.

I've seen this truck in person and could see nothing wrong with its design. It looks high in the pics, but it has no gear in it and its ride height is fully and easily adjustable.

The looks bomb proof which is a good thing in a crawler. I think this thing will take off, give a big boost to the Super class and we'll soon see a bunch of cool hop-ups like graphite side plates, different color links, etc

i agree with matt, this thing looks solid, as for alloy links getting notchy, i have been using em for ages, all i do is use a little motor bushing oil once in a while and the stay silky smooth.cant wait to see the price, XTM are usually good value.:D

just watched the stormer hobbies , XTM interview at RCX on youtube, this thing comes with a 50:1 reduction and all the alloy you see in the pics, street price reckoned to be under$500, cant wait to get my hands on it.

I have to wonder why XTM decided to go with a super class when it's obvious that 2.2 is much more popular? I would think that a budget 2.2 would have sold much better for them. Hmm?

fair point but perhaps 2.2 class is more popular because of the availability of 2.2 v super class kits and the AX10 Scorpion in particular. time will tell, i for one would like to have both.

The 2.2 class really took off, but the Super class is still very popular in many areas. This is also the first ready-made Super crawler ever, so it will probably really boost that class.

I know i can't wait to get it on the rocks.
