Has anyone tried to use this ESC with more then the rated voltage? I'm interested in trying LiFePo but the cell voltage of 3.3v is somewhat irritating...and from what I can see, the Sphere is rated for 8.4 volts but have anyone tried the limit?

hmm... Considering a fully charged ni-mh can read up to 10.5 or 11v and a fully charged 3s A123 pack should never be more than 10.8 volts, and A123 cells drop down to 2.8 volts (x3 = 8.4v) under a 40 amp load, I would assume that you would be ok. Don't use more than 1p though, or else the loaded voltage might be too high.
