I guess I now know what that new Featherlite transporter with the Traxxas wrap is going to be used for. On the door of the semi it had the name Jenkins. I just checked the CORR website and see the Mark Jenkins is driving the #25 Traxxas sponsored Pro 4 Ford. The transporter looks great! Pics of the Revo and other Traxxas products on the sides make it a real eye catcher.
Good Luck to Mark and the Traxxas race team!

I was suprised to see all the Traxxas logos all over the track, on McGrath's on board, and even in the Speed Channel scroll. Gotta hand it to them-they've realized that promoting the replicas with real-life vehicles pays.
(This reminds me, didn't Losi sponsor some buggies back in the Mickey Thompson days?)
BTW, found this on another board, here's why Kincaid dropped to the back of the Pro-Lite field: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FW9CYgXaa78

OUCH!!! That looked like it hurt. With the title of the topic, I thought there was going to be a new CORR type class at like a ROAR event or something featuring all of the new Traxxas CORR inspired race truck. That would be sweet if something like that did come up.

Do we have a true release date on the slash, or still sticking with may 22nd?

I attended the CORR race in Pomona this past weekend, and I was impressed by how involved Traxxas was. They were not only represented in the top three classes (Pro 2, Pro 4, and Pro Lites), but they are also a title sponsor. Traxxas owner Mike Jenkins thinks CORR will grow, and it could be as big as NASCAR one day. I would have to agree, its a lot more fun to watch trucks hit 100-foot jumps than to watch cars go round and round.
Here are some cool facts about the pricey Pro 4 trucks.
Pro 4 Facts
- The engines produce over 900-horsepower.
- 18-inches of front suspension travel with 20-inches in the rear
- The trucks cost as much as the cars in NASCAR.
- They often hit jumps at speeds over 90-mph.
Here are a few pictures from this weekend.
The Traxxas pits are no joke! They have flat screen TVs, their four trucks (one back-up Pro 4), a huge trailer, Yamaha Rhinos, pit scooters, and the all the makings of a "factory" team.

Mark Jenkins drives the #25 in Pro 2. This shot was during opening ceremonies, just minutes before the race went live on the Speed channel.

Mike Jenkins, the owner of Traxxas, runs in the big dog Pro 4 class. His equipment is there, and his skills look good. I imagine he'll be battling up front in the near future.

Mark Jenkins grabs some air after turn two on the first lap of Pro 2.

CORR fans were stoked about Traxxas' new Slash.

Daaaaamn. Go Traxxas! Traxxas has been the company taking r/c to new heights in the last 10 years, and this is HUGE! Sponsoring monster trucks, and now a CORR team...Traxxas really knows how to market their stuff. You're not kidding when you say that's a pro level setup. That's just like the displays that all the big guys have at NHRA drag races. We can only hope the rest of the industry catches on and follows suit.

I just had a funny vision of Traxxas re-releasing the Street Sport and sponsoring a NASCAR team... THAT would be amazing, and would truly catapult RC into a new light (not that this isn't now, but I would think NASCAR has a far larger viewing audience than CORR).
This hobby is heading in a good direction it seems!
Also, did anyone realize just how many porta-potties there are in that last picture with the guy checking out the Slash?:D
