Hi

I have been talking to a guy who owns a model shop and is willing to host a world speed event in Dallas. He needs to know if there is any interest.

The event will be part of the World Speed Chamionships being held on the west cost USA (hopefully!!) and in the UK.

I will post more info when I get it

Cheers

Dallas sounds really good. I was planning on moving to Dallas and if the even is there and I have all my things ready, I'll probably go. That way I can look around for the best school for my daughter while I'm there.

I live in Houston, which is about 4 hours from Dallas. I would definitely go.

The guy is called Forbes, you might know him. He is looking at either a drag strip or a 1/2 mile long car park. Hes serious about organising the event but needs people to help out. Can I give him your email B4Maz?

You posted a great link in R/C Speed Freaks' forum. I spoke with the lady that runs the event and she's definitely interested. Awesome find and they run in an Airport. From the video, I think the surface looks pretty smooth. Great find B4Maz.

Most of the guys are saying that as there is a complete lack of organisation from Radio Control Action over this years event they will be going to the event in Dallas instead. It was the same story a couple of years ago.

Cheers

Mr. Lovering,

Mark (forbes) contacted Shannon. She's a very nice lady and sounded very interested and said the event can be done in October as they will have their event at that time. I have to say B4Maz found a winner. Thank you B4Maz for posting that link about the Texas Mile. I sent the e-mail to you and Georges as well. Please contact her also to give her a better understanding of the event.

Edit: Mr. Lovering, please forward the e-mail to B4Maz. I didn't have his e-mail address at the time I sent the e-mail to Shannon, you, Mark and George.

Hi

Can you send me any and all the details of the track dates etc... etc... so I can post them on our site. We have a few guys from over the pond on there so they can get the info needed.

October is great as ours is in September so you will know what to beat (if anything!). I might be able to get over for the event like last year. I have a new car on the drawing board and i think its a winner

Cheers

It shows that October 25-26 will be the next event. Contact Shannon as well and see what she says.

You want a weekend when they are free or do they have a part of the track or road that you can use when the drag cars are running?

The airport has 2 runways. I have posted a picture of it.

I just hope that the track is smooth enough for cars that have very low clearances. I found some videos of the action at the Texas Mile on Streetfire. Shannon is in the video:

600 HP turbo bikes & 1300 HP Supra's don't show up in every town, but each fall and spring in Golaid, TX, one of America's premier mile-long top speed events gives amateurs and pro's the opportunity to set new records and win new bragging rights

Radio Control Action are still interested in doing the event. I just wish they would get their finger out
