dear Mr. Lee,
years ago I had an engine collection which included a Cleveland "Tom Thumb" which I think was a 49, and a Comet 35. Do you have any idea who manufactured either of these?

Dear Mr. L,
The Cleveland Torn Thumb was made here in Los Angeles, Calif. by Dan Bunch who made the Bunch line of engines.
It was a Bunch Mighty Midget with the Name changed.
The cornet 35 was made in the San Francisco, Calif. bay area by a man named Jack Keener who also made the "Brat" engines. The Cornet 35 later became the Vivell 35 with a different 'cylinder and removable head. Both are nice collector items today.
Yours,
Clarence Lee
