here are some pics of my proctor N-11. i redesigned the cockpit and servo locations. every thing works including the throttle. the servos control all the cockpit controls and they inturn control the control surfaces. this is my first scale build , iv'e done two short kits before this. iv'e been involved in the hobby for almost a year so i'm rather new at this. the wingspan is 62 inches and weight should come in at about 7.75 to 8.00 lbs. all i have left to do is build the wings. the dummy motor is scratchbuilt along with all the detail you see. alot of people think i have a micro milling machine, i dont. i fabricated everything with basic hobby tools, exacto, razorsaw, dremel and sandpaper. i dont even own a set of files. most of the detail is made from alum. sheet or lithoplate, brass and alum. tube and 1/32, 1/64 ply and bass. it's all electric. i have a rimfire brushless 42-60-480 with a 70 amp speed controller. it swings a 20" prop. i put alot of detail in this plane, the only thing i purchased was one brass instrument housing. combing, belts, laceing etc. is all done in black leather and natural round. the rudder artwork i drew on my computer and created a water slide decal ( super thin) so it would look like paint. the plane is a russian N-11

I've seen a lot of models
my first job was in a claustrophobic hobby shop at age 13

but the detail you've produced there I've never seen before ever

saying great job is too much of an undercompliment

hey spikk that is the best plane i have ever seen. great detail, love the little pic in the cockpit. BTW is there any like backup so if the connections to the cockpit fail you can directly control the control surfaces or no?

hi JF, no there isn't, i trust my engineering and building skills. it be more likely that a servo would fail before the linkage. but s**t happens and you never know and better yet my piloting skills arent to good ive only been into this hobby for a year. i'm gonna find a super skilled pilot to do the maiden. lets say hypotheticaly if i got into the scale masters i would go in as a team, me the builder and i pilot to fly it, so let's put it this way i have the same chances that a full scale aircraft would have. thanks for the compliment, ive got about 900 hrs into this plane sofar, almost done just got to build the upper wing i'll start that this weekend. P.S. here are a couple more pics of the completed fuse.

i finally finished my N-11, it came in at 8 lbs 5 oz and only took 10 grams balance. i must have got lucky with the cg ive read the horror stories about detail and cg either that or the fact that its electric and every thing is attached to the firewall, motor, batteries, servos, electronics etc. in any case hope to maiden this weekend. here are a few basement pics of the finished plane.

if that was mine i would not fly it .......but on the other hand if i could turn out work like that evertime i would be first on the flying field ROCK ON chucks away..
iv only been in the hobby for two months and building the nieuport 11 BEBE and already stuck on the COWL (most models in britian dont like to give to much imformation away
