File this under old timer/new technology. I just received my new Spektrum DX3R with a 3100 receiver. How should I run my receiver's antenna wire? It's extremely short compared to my old AM radio's. Can I run it inside the body, or should I just shorten my antenna tube and run it the old fashion way. Is there any precautions I should take against it getting twisted/damaged (i.e. from flips and crashes)?
Any help is much appreciated.

I always have run just a short antenna tube, with just about an inch out the top of the tube then put a cap on it. I have never had any problems with that setup. Welcome to the world of glitch free operation!

Precisely, you can basically route the antenna wire any way you want, main thing is just making sure it doesn't rub against anything(like with ANY antenna wire). I just route mine the samw way I always did, but because it's so short, it doesn't even reach anywhere near the roof of my car's body, so no more needing to drill a hole for that.....

I've found, from experience with my Nomadio React, that it's best to get the end of the antenna as high as you can get it. The higher you can get it away from the chassis, the better your range is.
I've found, also, that I've been happiest when I cut the antenna tube to just slightly longer than the wire so that the wire is completely inside of the tube, and not dangling outside of it any. This keeps the whole thing as straight as possible and keeps the range up where we all want it; As far as possible. :)

Thanks for the help folks, I really appreciate it! Short tube here I come. Oh yeah, and as far as glitches go, I would just turn my car on and the steering would be twitching all over the place. With this new system it's smooth a silk, and not a glitch. I'm so pleased with it!
