We are in our sixth month of NationWide DownHill Racing at the Texas Toy Fair here in Houston.
Cars from around the country are mailed in to compete against local and national Racers and then returned for FREE.
Our Races occur every month with different classes, categories and themes.
We’ve been planning a “Race For Customs” and beginning July 19 the action will commence.
Last month, May 10, we had our first “Show N Go” series wherein the Customs Race was won by Xanther12 aka Brian from Virginia with a HW Ford GTX-1, and the Customs Category was won by TXStreetRacer aka Brian Wilbanks of New Waverly, Texas with a HW Custom Drag Bug.
Prizes were awarded.
Beginning July 19 for 3 months Racers will compete for the best elapsed time in our “Texas Trifecta”.
You may race the same car all 3 months or enter a different Custom Racer when you read your E.T. on the Internet and in our group Email.
Once a Custom is entered it remains part of the Texas Trifecta Grand Prize Pot.
This is not a tiered race or a heat race. You are racing for your own best E.T.
Entries will race twice each month, once on the left lane and once on the right.
E.T.’s are digitally recorded to the hundredth of a second and both runs of the entry will be divided by two for a best average.
At the end of 3 months at the September 20 Texas Toy Fair the 3 average times of each entry will be added and lowest score wins the Grand Prize Pot.
Entries must be a HotWheels or MatchBox and must be castings of real cars or Pick-Ups.
Understandably, entries must fit and be able to race on HotWheels style track.
No use of any lubricants or graphite is allowed.
Custom entries must be disassembled and repainted.
Reassembly permitted with small screws, rivets or any epoxy (glue).
Decals and detailing are acceptable.
Original base of your casting must be used and wheels swaps are acceptable.
You may remove an existing engine but not install one where there is none.
No added weight and no other body mods allowed except the removal of an engine.
Our track, the “Texas Express” with digital timers is 28’ from start to finish and is made by Expert Racers.
In addition, 3 special Customs have been created specifically for this Event as part of the Grand Prize.
Pictures will be posted on the Net each month of all entries with their elapsed times.
Races just like this were just held on the Internet and a guy named 69Stang walked away with over 20 entry Customs and even extra Bonus Cars.
I thought you guys here may be interested in trying your luck in the Texas Trifecta and maybe coming away with a load of Customs.
Remember, besides this “Texas Trifecta” we conduct monthly NationWide Races in non Customs categories at the Texas Toy Fair.
