My old man passed away a few years ago, and recently my mom was cleaning out his old stuff. She found his old Radio Shack Renegade Jeep, (can see one similar http://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-RADIO-SHACK-RC-JEEP-RENEGADE-DIGITAL-TOY-CAR_W0QQitemZ350075338125QQihZ022QQcategoryZ44029Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Now, it doesn't have a transmitter, but looking on the bottom, it says that it is 27.095. I have a crystal, but when I turn them both on, nothing happens. The jeep has a red light on it showing it has power, but I'm not sure how to get this jeep to work.

I know it's not going to be fast, but it'd mean a lot to me to get it running in honor of my dad.

Any help is appreciated.

Yank the bod, remove the old Rx and wire in a new one maybe?

I just won the listing you shown! This truck brings back great memories, I got 1 for Christmas when I was around 12 - 13 years old, I'm 37 now! I'll probably self it or customize it into a scale crawler:cool:

Take it to Radio shack and ask if they can send it in to their repair shop for you. I bought an old R/C 68 Camaro off eBay a few years ago that didnt run when I got it (even though the seller vowed they tested it before shipping):roll2:

Anyway I took it in to Radio shack and they said that they could send it to their repair dept (for a fee of course)! I agreed, and later they found that it had a bad curcuit board inside.

Take yours in and see what they say ;)

How old is your car? Mines is a Radio Shack Street Sprinter II. This is a car they stopped selling years ago. Maybe if you try a different Radio Shack store, I'm sure someone should help you.

They did fine by me

You could just gut it and put in some standard electronic stuff, RX, ESC, etc....

Yeah, do what I did. I've got a Cuda that they recently discontinued, so I just took my Futaba radio, got an ESC and motor, dropped it all in, and it works better than ever...except for my positive lead came off.

I can do donuts at quarter throttle with that thing. You put a Losi 370 in a jeep, I'm sure you could have a lot of fun.

I got it! Man does this bring back memories! Now I don't know what to do with it? I need some opinions, should I shelf queen it, turn it into a scale crawler or just put electronics in it and beat the hell out of it? Here's some pictures next to a Savage for scale

That looks like a good scale crawler. Lift it a bit, new radio system, and you'd be good to go.
