I recently bought a pack to race my TC3 with. Its an Intellect 4200 pack with SMC cells. It was pre assembled when I bought it. After each use I throw it on my LRP Pulsar Competition charger and discharge it down to 5.7 volts. Then I put it on my equalizing tray and take each cell down to .90 volts. During the discharge the cells make a sizzling sound. Its not all of the cells, usually one or two, and its not just two specific cells. They have all done it. Sometimes a liquid comes out of the positive side of the cell, never the negative. Is this common or is there something wrong with the pack?

That's not good. You're hearing the cells vent, which is their safety feature to keep from exploding, literally.

Not good at all. If it hasn't been abused I'd try to take it back and see if they'll replace it. SMC is a good company but those IB cells are a bit finicky sometimes.

I agree totally sizzle and spew is more common in old wasted packs that are ready to be recycled.
Return them asap.
Hope you can get a refund for packs that are just not rite.
