Alert - The ROAR Approved MaxAmps 35C 4200 pack is here!!!!!!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MaxAmps 35C 4200SS 7.4V Pack

MaxAmps.com presents the ultimate “Sanction Spec” racing pack that has been approved by ROAR. As you racers know, the most important factor for your batteries is voltage under load. This pack boasts a 35C constant rating for all your amp hungry racing setups. It will maintain higher voltage under load than any other pack on the market.

In addition, it comes with your choice of “leaded and unleaded”. The leaded option offers 6 ounces of additional weight added to the bottom of the pack. This allows racers to keep their current NIMH setups without throwing off the balance of your setup or having to add weight to make weight requirements.

• 35C Constant Discharge(147amps)
• Hard Outer Case
• 139mm x 47mm x 25.1mm
• 7.4 Volts
• 4200mah Capacity(plenty for racing)
• 8.8 ounces(unleaded) 14.8 ounces(leaded)

As with all MaxAmps packs, you choose your plug, tap, and wire options and your pack is built to order within 24-48 hours of placing your order on the website at www.MaxAmps.com

Suddenly, these roar approved batteries might come in handy. I hope to continue to be able to use what I have at the dirt oval that's opening up here, but if I can't.....helloooooo dolly.

I have one guess.
It probbaly failed on at least one of the ROAR abuse tests. I don't think the shell was tough enough , and from the temps I have been getting out of my 3000HV's, it might not have liked the 0.1ohm short test either. This new pack sounds amazing, and should have no trouble with the 0.1 ohm test as that should only be 84 amps fresh off charge, 74 amps nominal. These new 35C cells should not even break a sweat. The test is barely 1/2 the rating. I have now personally run 2 different LiPo's and worked with a few other drivers running different LiPo's and my new rule of thumb is now to run only 2/3 of the C rating claimed by most battery suppliers. This would still make the new 4200SS perfect for 98 amps of real power. I don't see how you will ever get there for real in a 1/10 vehicle. My 4WD Mamba Max 5700 will only see 60 amps in real world driving on my Eagle Tree data logger. Holding the car back to load it harder, I got it to the high 80 amp range with a fresh slipper clutch re-build. I now have one hard case pack rated at 100 amps that runs cool. I do want a second, and the price and numbers sure look good on this one. I will have to see where it comes out with my Max Amps member discount. I have been very happy with Max Amps quality and support, too bad I bought my Losi pack just a tiny bit too early. I am cooking my 3000HV packs, but even after repeated runs over 140F they still perform great, they just can't take my 4WD beast in track conditions.

The 5000 pack was never even tested by ROAR they said the case didn't meet their requirements. So the New 35C 4200 cased pack was created and from the testing I have done with these cells you guys will love them. My test pack at a 30C full run on the CBA II with the amplifier never saw any temps over 101 degrees. That full pull was 126 amps the whole time. These are by far one of the best cells I have ever had the pleasure to play with.

I will probably be ordering one very soon. My current setup is the two 3000HV's in a 2S2P 7.4 6000 for practice and one qualifier, and then I am using the new Losi 5000 pack for one qualifier and the main. I have to use different hold downs for them as the 2S2P setup does not fit well into the car and the 2P cable is a pain as well. It runs great and keep the temps down though. The performance between these two setups is basically a wash, but the 6000 is a tick heavier. Your new 4200 should pull just as hard, and the non-leaded should be very close to the Losi 5000, maybe even lighter?

Will you also be offering these new cells in soft packs and other voltages? I can imagine a 3S 4200 35C would really launch a Speet T. I didn't see any other 1P 4200's on your site yet.

35C? Can we have some graphs to show that please (any from a third party independent tester would be great too!)? I'm going to remain a bit skeptical if ya don't mind. Not even Enerland packs are at 35C (30C is the highest they go right now IIRC), and those are supposed to be the cream of the crop for the most part.:)

I've heard from a lot of people, whom I consider to be credible and simply know what they're talking about, say that the max amps packs tend to be overrated (eagle tree graphs support what they say as well; from multiple users)...:)
