I've chosen the superb Jada Divco Cruizer as my #2 Custom portraying "ThunderDome II at HotWorld" by way of HobbyTalk.com.
MiniMotors of HotWorldCustoms.com the most comprehensive Customizing website on the internet, is conducting the races for ThunderDome II.
I certainly wasn't about to let MiniMotor's standup character and attitude go without some promotion of him and his site in my own Custom way.
HotWorldCustoms.com is a lengthy domain name necessitating the use of a casting with enough room to print it out legibly and artistically at 1/64 scale.
The long upper panels of the Jada Divco Cruizer fit these criteria even moreso than the HW Dairy Delivery.
The text "HotWorld" on the roof of this Custom relates not only to MiniMotor's website but actually takes on its own significance as the physical location of BarterTown in the movie ThunderDome.
All the images and their frames had to be created perfect to allow for an exact fit.
Castings are stripped, filed of crud and sanded nice and smooth.
Windows and wheel wells get particular attention from a small crescent file and sandpaper.
Existing HighBeams along with both front fenders are drilled out for Rhinestone inlay.
Primered, basecoated twice with Shimrin White followed with two coats of SnowWhite Pearl.
Intercoat cleared for taping.
Taped and shot with Pagan Gold Intensifier and Yellow Pearl-Ex Powder.
Intercoat Cleared.
Taped and shot Tangerine Candy Intensifier with Red Russet Pearl-Ex Powder.
Front and rear Window trim.
Decals. Checkout the Green and Black trim around the upper panel decals and the Green, Red and Black trim around the Roof Decal.
Now how was it possible to get InkJet Decals to show true color when applied over that Tangerine Candy?????????
Rhinestone Headlamps and Rhinestone HighBeams.
4 coats of HOk Urethane Enamel, 2 with Aztec Gold Pearl-Ex Powder and two coats without.
All House Of Kolor products, Of Course!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
