Hey guys,
I want to buy a new radio kit but there are a lot of frequency options: AM/FM, 27 MHz, 40 MHz etc..
What is the difference between all of these? Is 27MHz/AM set bad? Or should I go for a 75MHz/FM set??

If you are on a budget, and can't sped too much, by all means go to a 75 over a 27. More channels, less chance of interference. If you can afford to spend a bit more tho, the Spektrum Radios are top notch.

40MHz is an european frequency for public, and MILITARY ONLY in the US. If you're in the US and use 40MHz, you could seriously cause some serious problems, not to mention the interference your vehicle will receive.
Absolutely do not use 40MHz in the US. The FCC will fine you a ridiculous amount of money if you do anyway.

I'm in Turkey actually, and 40 Mhz is one of the reserved frequencies for rc models here. So it's not a problem ;)

Good to go then.
However, if 2.4GHz is legal there, like the Spektrum systems, or FASST from Futaba, or the MX-3FHSS from Airtronics/Sanwa, I'd look into those. FAR superior technology.
