What the title says. Bought a 3500mAh 5 cell pack to take apart and use in my glow igniter (1.2v), however when I put the cells individually to a voltmeter, they show up as 0
I just tried charging one with my procharger at 2 amps and then 3.5s, and both times it beeped END like 6 minutes after I put it to charge (1 cell)
Were these packs dead when I bought them? or what am I missing?
Thank you!!

sounds like they were dead on arrival, if they are 0 there is no hope

A lot of chargers tend to false peak on 1 cell. I know my Triton does, and I assume it's because it has to drop the voltage so low internally and the heat messes with the peak detection electronics.
I'd keep repeaking it until it takes however long it should take to be finished. At 1A, it should take 3.5 hours. At 3.5A, 1 hour.

take a set of jumper cables and attach them to a 12 volt car battery
and then zap each cell individually for 2 seconds apeice.
that should wake them back up and bring them back
positive to positive
negative to negative.
TRUST ME
if the idea freaks you out then wear rubber gloves. but it wont zap ya. but be sure to not leave it on longer than two seconds.

Chewie,
Can you zap a whole 6c pack like that? IF so, just 2 secs?

hmm, I'm fine with 12v so that's not a problem. I'll give that a try dude, have never heard of this before.
Thank you!!!

make sure you do each cell individually.
its generally not a good idea to to this to stick pack or a pack where you can not acess each cells +/-
