Receiver Question....

I just purchased a Traxxas Rustler VXL... Awesome car... I crashed it 5 min. later....:eek: Yeah, it is fast.:D

In the crash I destroyed the receiver. I have a receiver (2 channel) on my Evader. I did a quick test and hooked it up to the Rustler, changed the crystal out, and it seemed to work fine. My question is: Am I going to hurt the ESC by using a second source receiver?

Oh, I was looking at the replacement receiver online and it says "with no BEC"... My guess is that the BEC is the crystal. Is that correct?

1. your fine using the second recevier.
2, BEC battery elimanating circuit, meening if you got that one you'd need a seperate battery to run reciever and servo

So, it is my understand that the ESC gives power to the receiver and that a non/BEC is needed for the Rustler VXL. (the exact receiver listed on the parts is listed as a BEC)... I am new so any more information would be helpful.

'bec receiver will work fine. it's just an internal regulator that drops the voltage if necessary and will basically make absolutely no difference for this application'
and bec is a circuit inside the reciver that eliminates the need for a reciver pack hence battery elimnater circuit
