How you doing? Want to use a 7 volt regulater with 7.4 volt lipo for this receiver. More speed and torque out of hitec servos! Can the receiver handle the extra volt, or am I shorting the life of the receiver? The servos are hitec 5995TG. Any help would be grateful.:winner:

Anybody using the futaba faast system with lipos and a 7volt regulater? Futaba wouldn't give me a straight answer.

We had 16.something volts through one for a few seconds at a time when a BEC blew up on us and it didn't die.

Other than that, I'm not sure.

Check the voltage on a 6V receiver pack while it's operating the servos. I bet it tops out at 7 or so.

Aren't the Hitec servos only rated for 6v?

HSR 5995TG voltage range is listed at 4.8 to 7.4. Ht batteries has a 7 volt regulator for there lipos. I want to use it , but don't want to burn up a 100 dollar receiver. Futaba didn't like me using Hitec with there radio system, hence, the run around on the receiver issue. 7 volts to a HSR5995TG = .12 in speed, 417 oz/in in torque. BAM

HSR5995TG is the titanium gears, they call this a robot servo.

I thought it might have the robot electronics but I wasn't sure. :)

If you want to, you can rig it up to give the rx 6V and the servos the 7V.

It requires 2 BECs though.

I've not tried this setup, but I'm about 99% sure it'll work. Airplanes use a similar setup all the time, just with a circuit board instead of wires.

Thanks eric, Think I will stay with 6 volts, easy and safe.
