Alright well I'm using a venom 4600 7.2 6cell pack and an ICE charger. I have the settings set at 6cell 7.2v 4600 NiMH, however it delta-peaks at 3550mah. I have my peak detection set at 10mv/c, should this be changed? I'm charging at 5amps. Once this peak occurs the battery is pretty hot to the touch. Is it false peaking?

i would charge it a a lower amp setting see if that works otherwise i dont know

The amount put into the battery doesn't really mean much of anything. It's just a calculation of amp rate and charging time.

Your peak detection setting is TOO HIGH by a LOT. It should be more like 5-6mV/cell. This will make it peak quicker and keep it from frying your cells due to high temperatures. Hot after charge = bad.

I cycled them at 10amp discharge and a 4amp charge and got a calculated 3666mah back. However I did this with my 3600 packs (at 6amp charge) and got 3580mah into them. GAHHH.

How much does it pull out at the 6A charge? Probably about the same. :) What it tells you it puts in doesn't matter much.

What is your cutoff set at for the discharge? You could have 1000mah left in the pack so when you go to charge it it is starting with 1000mah to start with so it will only take another 3600mah ish.

0.9v/c

hot cells = bad
warm cells = good

Okay well. I charge it, it peaks at 3500mah, I re-peak once and it get about 600mah more into it. I wait for it to cool and do a discharge. It pulls 2500mah out before volt cut-off, I re-discharge (both being at 0.9/c) and it automatically voltage cut-off. Why won't it pull out what it puts in? Or is it not putting in that much? Hmm.....

I doubt you could have killed it that badly on the first couple charges with the cutoff set wrong but it sound like it's pretty much hosed. How old is the pack?

I have a 3700 that will only charge/discharge to about 2900 or so, but it runs fine.

the pack is a week old. lol. I bet its hosed. it doesnt hold up with my brushless system in my b44. I have 2 3600 7.4v saddle pack lipos on the way. I'm ditching these POS's.

Hah, if they're not in too bad of shape, you could always try to return them as defective. :)

Might be able to put the credit towards a lipo. :D

I built them into saddle packs. They suck, I went out and ran them and I just can't stand the lack of power vs. my lipo's. My lipos will be here in a couple days, these cells are crap anyway.
