i know its old , but is there anywhere i can by some better running hardware from ? i have the straight shaft also .

oh yea besides the os engines what others are a drop in for a upgrade? i have the stock motor atm

You can upgrade to the new versions, i.e., Miss LLumar/Formula Boats/Elam's with the flex cable and new transom hardware.
As far as engines, there is a new import called the Go-engine available from one place, www.funrcboats.com and others that seems to be a hot one for under $100.00 .

on the othe hand my buddu has a brand new aquacraft .18 that he will give me (2 tanks total on it) would this drop in the miss bud? if not what all would i need?
