Greetings,

I am an American living in Guangzhou, China. I have been a plane and car R/Cer for a long time. I would like get into the sailboats and kit build or scratch build a nice, car transportable, sailboat. There is a great abundance of nice breezy bodies of water here in spectacularly beautiful and serene settings. Unfortunately, there seems to be a serious shortage of real, fully equipped and stocked hobby shops or R/C shops here. AMYA isn't much use to me because it's primarily for non-Asian participants and their site seems to reject China IP emails and China IP membership requests.

Any help with clubs, retailers, wholesalers, boat plans (star 45 would work fine if it will disassemble for car transport, or maybe a Nirvana II type) or contacts in Guangzhou would be much appreciated.

Regards,
Roger

Roger,

We started a sailing club in Hangzhou last summer & would be happy to assist anything you need. We call it the West Lake Irregulars & try to get out as often as we can sailing our IOMs & the Monsoon 900. We even have a few EP boats and submarines in the fleet. :D

Please visit our club page for more information: http://groups.google.com/group/west-lake-irregulars

Feel free to come join us one weekend once the season starts for some sailing on one of our beautiful lakes here in Hangzhou & Xiaoshan.
