Hi everybody,

I have an Ultrasport 60 kit on the building table and I was wondering if I really need the 2.12° of dihedral in the wing. I fly an Ultrasport 1000 pretty well. I was told that for a pattern plane, you can built a straight wing and it will fly better overall. I really do not need the little bit of correction that the dihedral provides. Any comments on this? Any suggests as to how the plane will fly without dihedral?

Thanks,

Happy Flying!

Hello Ser00,
I'm no expert by far to say this but i dont think it would hurt the flight charecteristics for that plane due to its Tapered wings.I'm sure if you are a proficient pilot you will be able to handle it.On my Super Kaos 60 I have built the wings flat across the top of the wing. the only hint of dihedral is that of the taper from root to tip.My plane flys great and handles like a pattern ship. try it with out i'm sure the designer put dihedral in for pilot comfort and confidence!
