Hello, today i have closed out my ebay account!i really had enough of the antics!
a)I am both a buyer and seller and i have been doing so since 4/1/2001.now as a seller you have to have paypal to list something for sale!i dont have paypal nor do i want it.i have sold many things sucessfully excepting a money order!i know buying a money order is a pain but as a buyer, if you wnat ,you bid and win,ya know!any way Ebay has tried like last year to change this buying only accepting paypal or credit cards as a seller.well i complained saying this wasnt fair to us sellers with good track records who dont use paypal!honestly i feel like i am being punished!you know something ebay now looses the money they would have made off me with the sellers fees, etc.

b) there feedback system sucks!!!!i recieved a negative feedback for something i sold way over a month ago.the buyer claims damgaes, etc.well i get no email or a chance to redeem myself.i honeslty would have worked something out, plus the pkg was insured!i am not a scumbag or anything like that,i wasnt out to screw anybody!well once you get a negitive you cant leave them a negitive in return(if u wanted to be spiteful!)so he gets to trash my record without giving me a chance to fix it!i personally believe he resold my item but i cant prove it!i emailed the buyer askking him why all off a sudden.i think he did it just to screw with my record.he's got a 100% feedback rate!and why 30 days later huh?

well anyway i know we have been down this road before with me complaining about ebay!well heres one person that wont be buying or selling threw them no more !their loss!

Ebay is the founder and owner of paypal.
Why wont you get paypal Dave?
Its simple to get,(all needed is a CC or checking acct.) and the safest way to shop on the internet.

I have to agree, ebay does sometimes bare its grotesque underbelly, especially when they allow people like rcwaffle to continue doing business regardless of how many complaints receive. I've sold a few items on ebay myself, ebay id 'acalthu', and thankfully they have all been good honest people. And I've only bought from people whom I've communicated with extensively, except for the rcwaffle incident but that was upon the recommendation of a neighbour who has had good dealing with him. I've mostly stuck to big vendors on ebay, always after reading their feedback extensively. But I understand fester's frustration; some people are just born with bad karma and love to do injustice to people simply out of spite and hoping to make a "score" or just make the other person's life miserable. But having said that, there are a more genuine sellers on ebay than not, and most have excellent communication and are always willing to discuss any problems either party may have before leaving bad feedback or reporting to ebay/paypal.

he's right, PayPal on it's own is a pretty good service, I even have their debit mastercard which really comes in handy when you don't want to deal with the 2-3 day delays when transferring money to/from bank accounts. A few R/C vendors use it too, like addicted2rc, towerhobbies, liquidrc, etc. There was no LHS in Alpharetta where I used to live, so online was the only way for me to get stuff, unless I drove an hour to HobbyTown in Kennesaw but I rarely had the time.

I buy and sell on there and while I understand what you are saying I personally will not buy if the seller is not using paypal. As a buyer that is the only real way I am protected if I do get a crappy seller. As a seller I simply sell the items with a price to compensate the fees.

I hear you. I am also a Buyer and seller on ebay. But lately, their changes made me stop selling permanently. I only buy now on rare occasion.

I buy and sell on ebay and only use paypal.. I won't buy or sell to someone who doesn't just because its a real pain to deal with otherwise... I do like the coverage/protection they give, but I've heard horror stories about that.. Ebay as a whole is fine.. Fester, by not using paypal, you are limiting yourself and your potential customers... But you've already made your decision...

Dave in cases like that paypal re-imburses you (normally) and they try to find the ''hacker'' and prosecute them to the full extent of the law.
Most paypal acct.'s that get hacked are the fault of the paypal user logging into their act. through bogus paypal e-mails.
I've reported many fraudulent e-mails to paypal and never log in to my acct. via an e-mail sent.
If paypal wants something logging in to paypal through the site will get you the info they wanted you to see.
Paypal is the safest way to shop online especially if you get the paypal debt card that can be used anywhere a credit card can :)
Paypal also watches whats been bought by you and if they suspect fraudlent charges they will freeze you'r acct. and call you or a message will apear in you're acct. saying its been frozen until you contact them and verafie the charge is you'rs or not.

Get paypal and then don't accept it as a method of payment for your eBay listings. EBay is trying to double fee sellers is all they are doing.
Done.

dont slow down

Ebay has changed a lot and offers almost no protection of the seller. Paypal has bogus rules and fees too. Paypal held an incoming payment to me for 2 weeks because I didn't have 100 positive feedback remarks. I have been a member of Ebay for years, I just don't use it that much and I don't have any negative feedback either. Paypal and Ebay are turning into a scam and I'm with ya fester, I don't use them anymore either.

Hey Fester, I know your pains. I'm a long time Ebayer and was once a Powerseller. I'm really mad at the changes they've done which has taken away seller protection. Sellers are usually there for the long run...you can tell the new sellers by their low feedback.

Meanwhile even if you've been there for years, you're at the mercy of any new scammer. Ridiculous! I think Ebay is suffering greatly from this and I'm guessing they'll soon change their policies as sellers leave by the droves.

BTW - I've been scammed both as a buyer as well as a seller. Once a scammer sold me a MIB kit and sent me his old junk. I was lucky enough to find the auction in which he bought the very junk he sold me and convinced him to send me back the money (after a lot of calls and him threatening to "kick my ( ! )"...:roll2:).

As a seller, I got scammed by someone in Canada claiming to have had their credit card stolen for this purchase...which I really doubted. I was out $400!!! Worse yet, I called the contact number and it was a number to a Muslim temple...just when there was news of terrorists scamming on ebay to get money. How disgusting can things get? :(

also i just bought a body off ebay i got today and talk about bad paintjobs!,u think mine are bad, this paintjob has finger prints on the top,the paint was scratched with scissors,it has flaws!i gonna email the guy and see what we can work out.it doesnt look bad but for the money i paid i deserve better and in the auction it says nothing about paint flaws!i paid $45 for it(i bought the body before i decided to apint my own)

I was beginning to wonder if the bad feedback on your account was from a painted body of yours that you sold. Just Kidding.

I have pretty much stopped selling on Ebay since my fees and so on add up so fast. Craigslist or oodle.com are the way to go. Local sales, happy buyers and CASH in Hand. I think that's the way to do it from now on.

Email I got stating why it a good thing. I bolded the real reason.

Thank you for writing eBay in regard to new changes in the payment
policy.

all the new changes are rolled out after extensive research and
only for the member's benefit. As you yourself I am sure you'll find
them beneficial for both buyers and sellers very soon.

The primary reason for the changes we made in accepted payment policy
was to make eBay a safe place to trade, for both buyers and sellers. 80%
of buyers who paid with a payment method like check or money order are
likely to file an Item Not Received dispute, and 50% of them are likely
to leave negative Feedback. Also the speed of processing is much faster,
and our research shows that US transaction paid with PayPal, 25% were
paid within 5 minutes, and 73% were paid within 24 hours.

Buyers will have a more consistent and secure payment experience on
eBay. Right now, 1 out of 5 eBay transactions send buyers off eBay to
complete their purchase. Buyers' experiences vary greatly depending on
the seller and their payment provider. This lowers buyer confidence in
eBay and leaves buyers more vulnerable to online fraud. By using only
integrated electronic payment methods in eBay checkout, buyers will be
able to stay on eBay to pay.

If you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to reply to this
email and let us know.

Sincerely,
Sandie N.

eBay Customer Support

Pretty good scam really, they get to make more money from fees and get to make interest off your money.

It's to protect you unless you are buying big things. 99 cent bearing they want you to be safe. $5,000 car you on your own.

Are there any categories excluded from these payment requirements?
Vehicles (Motors), capital equipment (Business & Industrial), Mature Audiences and Real Estate will be excluded from the new payment requirements. Specifically, the following categories will be excluded:
Motors > Cars & Trucks
Motors > Motorcycles
Motors > Powersports
Motors > Boats
Motors > Other Vehicles & Trailers
Business & Industrial > Agriculture & Forestry > Tractors & Farm Machinery
Business & Industrial > Construction > Heavy Equipment, Trailers
Business & Industrial > Restaurant & Catering > Concession Trailers & Carts > Concession Trailers
Business & Industrial > Healthcare, Lab & Life Science > Imaging & Aesthetics Equipment
Business & Industrial > Industrial Supply, MRO > Fork Lifts & Other Lifts
Business & Industrial > Manufacturing & Metalworking > Manufacturing Equipment
Business & Industrial > Manufacturing & Metalworking > Metalworking Equipment
Business & Industrial > Office, Printing & Shipping > Commercial Printing Presses
Real Estate
Everything Else > Mature Audiences

And if it's just for Buyers and sellers safty and conidence why is this.
What about Google Checkout, Checkout by Amazon or Amazon Flexible Payment Services? Will these payment methods be offered?
No. The electronic payment methods available on eBay already provide security and protections and are already used by the vast majority of our buyers and sellers. eBay will offer several other electronic payment options in addition to PayPal, namely ProPay to start, with more electronic payment providers to be added in coming months. Google's and Amazon's products and services compete with eBay on a number of levels, so we are not going to allow them on eBay.
