I have obtained a set of old plans originally published in the 1940"s (from the look of the photos) for the "Kiltie", a Wee Six Class model of a 6 meter sailboat. It is 56 1/2" long with an 11 1/4" beam, and displaces about 25 pounds. The plans are complete with the sails and rigging for static sailing in a lake or pond. I intend to convert the model from a built-up "bread and butter" carved hull to a plank on frame type construction using plywood and basswood. I would like to convert it to RC control. I have considerable wood boat building experience (full size and models), but no experience with RC controls. Where can I find information on what to purchase, how and where to install the servos, etc. I would like to control both the rudder and sail trim. I am not interested in racing, but would enjoy a relaxing sail around the pond! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Ed

First, glad to see somebody building another vintage boat. PM me and I'll put you in touch with some builders who can help you; for starters take a look at www.usvmyg.org

Cheers,

Earl
