New from Ikarus (www.ikarus.net):

This is the world première of a spectacular RC vehicle.

Right away Ikarus is presenting two new Race-Hovercrafts. Finally, with the “Craftair” and “Dragstair” modelers have the opportunity to own a pure-breed remote controlled Race-Hovercraft. They are being offered as “Ready to Run” versions or as kits.

This spectacular RC vehicle was especially designed for RACING. The durable Acropor body can take even violent collisions. The Race-Hovercraft can be operated on asphalt, water, ice, Tartan-surfaced sports fields, concrete surfaces, carpets and in gymnasiums. With optional tuning motors top speeds of up to 50 km/h (30 mph) can be achieved.

The new Ikarus Race-Hovercraft Craftair is a Pro-Kit. It consists of an upper and a lower shell, which permit a quick skirt change. The pilot decides on the motors used for the Craftair. The model is controlled by two motors (not included in the kit). The front motor is the hover motor, responsible for creating the air cushion, with the rear motor generating the forward motion.
Everyone can decide on their own how to configure the model.

Features Craftair:

Skirt quick-change system
Impeller type Power Duct allows dragster-like acceleration
Parallel or separate control of hover/pusher control possible
Super-Drift-Twin-Control system for optimum straight run and extreme power drifts
All-Terrain-Racing-Skirt made of real hovercraft skirt fabric
Wind tunnel improved Aero-Race body
Water protected air exhaust system
Splash water protected R/C compartment
Extremely resilient upper and lower shell material

Technical Specifications:

Length: 425 mm (16.7 in)
Width: 250 mm (10 in)
Height: 215 mm (8.5 in)

What happens if you flip it on water?

Sink, or float?

The video of the Dragstair on water has it starting up on water, so maybe it cant sink?

More than likely it has internal foam that keeps it afloat.

thanks, didn't catch that vid so thanks for pointing that out. it likely has some sort of hull under it or foam to stay afloat...good deal
