The e-Conversion is a well thought-out, practical design that has been engineered to work as an integral part of the chassis. Enjoying the awesome power and convenience of LiPos in your SC8, RC8 or RC8T has never been easier!

AE e-Conversion kit features:

Rigid one-piece motor mount utilizes standard motor screw mounting pattern
Large speed control mounting area raised off of chassis to allow for easy screw mounting of common speed controllers
Speed control mounting area includes convenient switch-mounting boss
Utilizes 3 hook-and-loop straps to secure LiPo batteries into battery tray
Molded Battery tray supports 7.4-14.8V battery packs with room for foam pads
Accepts two ROAR-approved 1:10 scale size 7.4v LiPo battery packs (#703 Reedy LiPo 5000 PRO (2), #704 Reedy LiPo 5000 w/connector (2), #705 Reedy LiPo 3200 w/connector (2), #709 Reedy LiPo 5000 35C (2))
New sealed receiver box for proper electronics placement
Receiver, Servo, and battery tray remove from car in one piece for easy maintenance and cleaning
Easy bolt-in chassis installation requires no modifications!

Very nice looking kit - I like they they did away with the disc brakes. How's the weight distribution work out?

Looks good except I wish that the esc was centralized I see that being outta balance unless a reciverpack can be placed in the box

Never gave this much thought until now....braking on electric....how does the electric braking via ESC compare to mechanical braking via servo, and would anyone prefer mechanical brakes on an electric car for some reason?

I'd prefer to stick with electronic braking on an electric car - I like the adjustability, though you're obviously missing the ability to adjust F/R braking bias. Getting rid of the throttle/brake servo, linkages, discs, calipers, and the big center diff is a pretty substantial counterpoint, though. That quite a reduction in rotating mass. And when it comes right down to it, I love the way my 1/10th scale 4wd buggies get around the track - I never miss having the center diff.
If electric 1/8th scale buggies begin to take on a life of their own, we could end up with front one-ways, or maybe fluid coupling on the driveshaft for those that can't do without bias adjustment (think Losi's Hydra-Drive). I'd actually like to see more composite materials, less aluminum down the road, as well.

The last thing I would ever want is for 1/8 to be like the current flimsy 1/10 stuff. One of the main reason people switch to 1/8 is because of the durability. My 8ight is like a tank compared to any 1/10 scale racing vehicle I've seen and I would never give that up.

Anyways, the Rc8 conversion looks exactly like an Losi's E-8ight conversion made to fit the Rc8, except for the motor plate. It was smart to advertise the battery try as fitting two 1/10 scale packs, so people who already have 1/10 equipment wouldn't think they need to buy a new pack and charger. Interesting how they chose the Mamba Monster replica for an esc instead of making their own.

This is pretty neat. Although I was wondering when AE will bring out their own conversion for the RC8 series. Now we can have a E-SC8 with no problems. Now I wonder if A, they will make a the RC8 series with these kits and motors in the future B offer just the RTR without the engine and just with the conversion kit or C a RTR package with motor and ESC.
