Here are some first look pictures of this new buggy coming soon from HPI. We'll post more info when available but for now we'll let the armchair engineers speculate on this. :)

Lots of room on that chassis. Interesting...

They've got the battery pack width-wise on there...seems rather unconventional. I see a lot of plastic...could be a solid basher? I'm good with the all-black, no need for the racing bling. And I wonder if it will come with brushless like in that picture?

Looks Kewl.

Similar layout to their ProD.

But which one is it going to be? The Plastic Fantastic or the one in the action pics (although the action pic one has HB stickers on it)

Wonder if my MaxAmps 2S 6000mah pack would fit in there?

Hope they make a Truck Version to! ;)

i wouldnt be suprised to see some saddle pack holders sold seperately for that :)

Finally someone gets away from having the battery down one side of the chassis! :)

Another thing to ad to my 2009 wish list.

That battery layout is nothing new. The original Gold Pan RC10 allowed you to either mount the battery like that or lengthwise...

It is a good looking buggy. Can't wait to see one up close

AE made the B44 incase you forgot or didn't know.

This looks ok. If it's sold at a price of 230.00 then it's a good deal--RTR.
The B44 is all carbon fiber and it sick compared to this.

Are the buggies with the batteries down one side balanced (such as the latest kyosho 4wd) with subCs? How balanced are they with lipos?

You'd think with the lipo that it might actually have a little more weight on the motor side of the chassis and you could balance it perfectly with some lead on the lipo side.

I think the coming switch to lipo and brushless tech changes the whole chassis balance equation.

Man I feel old! I remember when just about every car had this layout.

Yeah that's true...I just get really tired of seeing the battery config almost everyone is using having the pack on one side. Tamiya has a really nice saddle pack 4wd buggy too.

There is no way that thing is going to be $230 rtr with the Flux Brushless system that is shown in the pics!

I would say it would be in the $320 range same as their Sprint2 with the Flux Brushless system.

The only thing about this battery layout is just how much room is in there? Like I asked earlier will my MaxAmps 2S 6000mah pack fit?

It is nice to see more 4wd's out there as this really should be the premiere class for 1/10th Electric Off-Road!

But with all the 8th Scale Brushless Conversion and even RTR's is it to late for 1/10th 4wd to grow?

I wonder if the suspension geometries match the D4?

Anyone else notice the body post holes in the shock towers? Could this be suggesting a truck version coming?:D

Well, they should throw some longer arms on it, longer chassis, and truck body. A 1/10th truck with brushless needs to be 4wd. I want one.

Is this the same as the Brama?

It does look a little small, i hope its big enough for a possible 4wd corr truck conversion. I would really like to see a relatively inexpensive 1/8th electric corr truck from HPI one of these days, i'll probably just keep dreaming.

Any info on a release date? I was thinking about the Yok, but this seems like a better choice, at least from a parts availability stand point.

Its made an appearance racing...

Won a 24hr endurance race. Nice. Now if HPI would just release the damn thing i could possibly justify getting one...blahhhh

I agree, please, all manufactures, more KITS! Some of us find it FUN to build our own cars. And, it lets you get to know the vehicle better, and as you gain experience, learn it's weak points.

The drivetrain layout is like the Durango buggy, in that it runs straight and the drive cup to the diff is angled to accept it. And the durango had proven itself. So it must work.
