Latest race news from Orion (http://www.teamorion.com):
This past weekend was the 4th Annual Toys for Tots Charity Race held at Thunder Alley Raceway in Beaumont, CA. Over the past couple years this race has helped raise money and gifts for children that are less fortunate. The one day event brought over 200 entries with top drivers such as: Jared Tebo, Mark Pavidis, Cody King, Mike Truhe, Adam Drake, Todd Hodge and Jeremy Kortz. This would be the first official race for Jared Tebo since joining Team Orion/Kyosho/AKA on December 1st. Jared competed in both the 1/8 Pro Buggy and Truggy classes. In the 1/8 Pro Buggy class Jared Tebo went on to qualify 3rd overall with his MP9 in this star studded field. Since the high amount of entries at this year’s race, the A-Mains were shortened to 15 minutes. Tebo and top qualifier Truhe battled for most of the main event swapping the lead several times. In the end it was Truhe just beating out Tebo by only 1 second.
In the 1/8 Pro Truggy class Jared Tebo Tq’ed both rounds of qualifying with his ST-RR. At the start of the 15-minute A-Main Tebo caught a rut in the first corner and fell back to almost last place. Jared stayed calm knowing he was the fastest driver on the track and began to pick of drivers left and right. After only a couple minutes Tebo worked his way back into the lead. Tebo then stretched out his lead after his pit stop and never looked back taking the win!
Tebo powered his MP9 and STRR with Team Orion CRF Wasp Engines!
