Im just curious how happy the people who have the 1/10 CEN 4wd trucks are with them.

I havent had a nitro r/c in a while, and i think i like the 1/10th 4wd trucks about the best. It looks like tower hobbies is starting to carry CEN and their replacement parts which is a big selling point for me. I kind of have the itch for another truck. I like the 2 speed and the .18 engine should be plenty for me as long as it is reliable. It may be a while before i get another one, but it doesent hurt to do some research in advance:D
So what are everyones opinions of the CEN and availability of replacement parts? Any real weak points of the truck? Thanks!

This is great that Tower is going to carry parts. I have owned SEVERAL CEN trucks, and a couple cars. All of them were excellent- The engines started and ran good, held a tune, and made good power. They come with a good radio, good servos, and hold up to bashing pretty well. only thing i found weak was body posts!

Thanks for the info. If i buy a new one, i think im pretty set on a CEN for my price range and what i will be doing with it. Basically Ill just be driving it around, probably a lot of passes on the road, along with some fun hillclimbing and some small jumps. Nothing big, just something that is reliable and fairly peppy to have fun with.
I have an older T-maxx that is in pieces. I thought about taking the money i would spend on a new one and going through the whole truck and buying a new O.S. .18 for it. Basically new bearings, it needs a new frame because of some things i did to it when i never thought id want another nitro:o I made it electric and drilled some holes and things but anyways. New bearings, a frame, some servo casings, and a fuel tank/throttle linkage, and some other miscellanious parts. I may price it out and see which would be my best route. Id probably sell my electric stampede either way to pay for whichever nitro i end up with. I do like the t-maxx, and i like working on them, so I may just fix it up. I have a forward only conversion in the transmission already, and a radio for it along with a few spare parts.
I am in college right now with no job, but i think as soon as i find something ill go for it. Its hard to find good part time jobs, especially with the economy how it is.
Thanks for the help!

Well, I did a little looking. I can buy a new CEN NX 3.0 for about $280 plus shipping RTR. Thats not including any discounts i can get from tower hobbies. Its going to cost me at least $250 to get what i need for my t-maxx and ill still have a truck that has a lot of used parts on it, so i have decided when i do something, Im just going to go with the CEN. I did some reading and my local hobby shop can get their parts, they also have a nice engine replacement plan if something happens to it, and the truck looks to be built nice with good factory servos, a heavy drivetrain and a nice motor with plenty of power. I think for $320-$350 i can have everything including all the fuel/batteries i would need to make it run a while and after some reading, I am satisfied I can get any part i need for it without a lot of problem, and since it is built well, I shouldnt need many anyways!
Now, I think its time to sell all of my other R/C stuff and try to get close to enough out of it to buy a new CEN:D

you will be happy. The CEN engines , in my opinion, are some of the most trouble-free running engines out there. Mine never failed to start on 1st or 2nd pull, hold a great tune, and reliable. The servos are another plus- high torque , metal gear servos, right out of the box. I know for the money, they are hard to beat. The Magnum is, again, my opinion, the best truck for the money you can buy in its class.

I was just getting ready to make a new thread asking about comparisons of the 2 trucks. I saw the mgt 3.0 browsing on towers website, and I was really impressed with it. That is a smokin price they have on it right now too. I like certain things about both trucks, but i think parts support, and aftermarket will be a little better with the MGT. Although CEN seems to take care of their customers pretty well too. I dont think ill be upgrading to too many aftermarket parts on either one, so basically as long as i can get replacement parts for either one id be happy.
A reliable, easy to tune motor is a big seller for me. I want something reliable and fun. From the reading i have done, they are both good trucks. If the MGT is still $240 when i buy, i think that is the route i will go. $40 cheaper, and probably better parts support.
