Well i'm pretty good with the T-Maxx's but I'm stumped here. Driving yesterday it was fine, however I noticed a weird howling noise towards the end of the run like some gear issues somewhere. Still ran fine. Fired it up today and it immediately had very little power distribution to the rear. The front was getting the normal power and the rear maybe 5-10%. I figured a bum axel or maybe a toasted diff. Well i ripped the rear apart first..... Axels are solid, all the gears in the rear diff are perfect.... no issues there. So then I moved onto the tranmission. Tore that apart and all the gears in there are perfect as well. Any ideas on what my issue is? Thanks!

The diff gears may look fine but most of the time it's the diff cup that is the problem on these trucks. Under power it is allowing the ring gear to move away from the pinion. Check the 4 screws that secure the ring gear to the diff cup, I would bet at least 2 of them are loose or stripped. If that is not the case, crack open the diff and look at the spider gears. I have also seen the diff cup strip out internally and all off the power will not transfer to the axles.

I'll go with stripped wheel hex or sheared/missing drive pin in any of the four output yokes that are required to run the rear of the truck.

I would check the drive cup from the transmission too, that may have stripped itself as well.

all wheels hex's are fine and pin's in. Guess i'll have to check the drive cups! Thanks!

Tore apart the rear diff and it does indeed look fine. All 4 screws on the cup were in tightly still, but I still took them out and checked out the spyders... they both looked fine as well so i reassembled it and it spins good, no issues there.
On to the Trans....
