New to this hobby and I am rather confused about what all fits with what. I have a basic plane and I have been to swap meets looking for all the bits and pieces needed to complete the project and have realized that there are various technologies for Trans and receivers and servos and they are not compatible.

so I am looking for a tutorial/info and the various types of modulation etc, what should be paired with what, what to watch out for, and general tips. I don't want to buy items that are imcompatible.

Anyone know of such a document ?

I don't want to experiment with the latest expensive technology which is obviously not sold at swap meets cheaply.

The article can be technical as I am comfortable with most aspects of electronics technologies.

Thanks

Brad

Brad,
Lets start off with what you have now and we can tell you what will work and not work with each other. Lets keep it as cheap and as simple as possible. Remember this hobby is about having fun!
