Hey guys,

I just finished a little project of mine, and thought some of you might be interested to see; I've converted my Schumacher Havoc to brushless power. It's a pretty simple conversion, but the Havoc is a great basher truck, and I thought it about time to give it some real BL horsepower: ;)

Sorry for the pics; I know some of them are a bit iffy. She's running a Castle Mamba Monster V1 ESC (but with V3 case and 1.20 firmware), the Castle-Neu 1515 1Y 2200kv motor, and an Elite 35C 5000mah 5S LiPo pack for power. I did want to go 6S, but there just wasn't enough room on the chassis for it!
So far she drives really well. No drivetrain problems at all, and she handles the power surprisingly well for a RWD truck; even better than some 4WDs IMO, until you get on a really loose surface. She's geared for about 60mph, although I've yet to be able to determine the actual top speed.

I will say that the Castle-Neu motor is everything it's cracked up to be; unbelievable torque, and I'm yet to break 100F on it.

Anyways, thanks for looking.:)

5s? that thing must be an ANIMAL!!!!!!!

very nice ride, and very clean install. Seeing how that set up is reserved for 1/8 , in a 1/10 scale truck ( even tho it had a big block), it must be sick!

nice rig!!

Whoah. That beast must be doing some hypersonic speed runs. lol.

How fast can it go?

Hehehe, cheers guys.:) It's actually surprisingly driveable; the Havoc handles it like it was born for it to be honest. I had to tighten the diff a little to start with as it was slipping when I really punched the power, but now it's perfect. The only time that you're truly reminded that's it's RWD is when you drive it on gravel or really dry dirt, and even then it hand;es great. Schumacher did an awesome job designing the Havoc's handling package.

As for top speed...well, I don't know for sure yet. It's geared for just over 60mph - which is higher than you'd gear a normal truck running 5S - but since the Havoc is only RWD (and lighter than most 1/8ths), it strains the motor a fair bit less than 4WD does. The motor hasn't even hit 100F in any of my bashes yet, though it has been pretty nippy here. The cells certainly have the power to pull the gearing too...so I'd say 55mph (gotta account for the aerodynamic-as-a-cow bodyshell, amongst other things:D ).

I'm just waiting for a wheelie bar now. It's not too tricky to pop wheelies without flipping onto its back without one, but I've been caught out once or twice lol! And it'll be nice to just slam the throttle and ride a wheelie all the way up to top speed.:)

You still have your MMM V1? You're one of very few. The new case and F/W should have all the bugs licked though.

Yup, I was one of the very first to buy one (pre-ordered from RC-M). I didn't have anything to use it in at that stage, but I bought it because they were doing an awesome deal on it. It's sat around for 9 months doing nothing lol, but seems rock-solid so far with the new case and firmware.:)
