Hey Guys

I need help identifing this plane I aquired. It needs a few repairs and I am not sure what it is so here is a link to the pics and the specs are down below.

Someone told me a may be a "MISS GEMINI" from Model Airplane News aug 1983 plans section Can anyone confirm this and where could I go to get a copy of the info?

http://s35.photobucket.com/albums/d184/oscarguy29/plane%20in%20question/?albumview=slideshow

It has a wingspan of 90 inches
the wing is 15 inches wide and 3 inches thick at the leading edge
The length at the leading edge not including the wing tip is 86.5 inches and at the trailing edge is 85.5 not including the wing tip

Fuselage is 57 inches long x 9inches wide x 6.5 inches high at the firewall

The landing gear for this plane is mounted in the wings you will see it in the bottom of wing pictures a slot cut in it towards the leading edge on each side. the plane had a rough landing and broke the fuselage behind the wing owner was desgusted and it was put in the barn where the cowl was damaged and lost however I may restore her and see what happens got it for free so the price was right.

Thanks
Graham MacDonald

Hello

Due to having dial up I was unable to download more than one photo before I gave up.

You should go ahead and upload them here on this site.

Good looking airplane and definitly worth overhauling. Due to its simple design I would not worry too much on what is was or finding the plans.

Strip it down to the wood and patch up any breaks you find. Remove any oil soaked wood from around the engine and give the firewall a good spraying of K2R spot remover to soak up any oil there.

Give it a good sanding and paint it with Balsa Right to give the new covering something to stick to.

The gear can be bent to "That Looks About Right" standard out of music wire diameter that is fitted to the slots in hardwood blocks.

With the wing you discribe I would look at a four cycle in the 100 to 150 size.

Make a cowl using Balsa block covered with glass cloth.

It is too pretty to let go to waist and looks to be a fairly straight forward flying airplane.

Great looking plane. The price was right also. Wish I could get deals like that.
