"HWCGermany Drag Truck"
Here's the first of a few pieces I'm surprising my friend Sascha with over on HWCGermany.com.
The Red, Yellow and Black colors represent those of the German flag.

Sascha surprised me out of the blue a couple of months back with one of their Limited Edition Club Car SuperBees and a Club Button.
HWCG is a great Diecast Collectors site with a huge number of regularly contributing members.
Over the years they have always been responsive, friendly and welcoming to new people on their site.
Where yat Sascha,
I thought you'd like something in a VW.
This Drag Truck is only the first of several VW cars coming your way.
Starting life as a Classics Drag Truck, it was then stripped and filed of heavy casting scars and all the window openings were cleaned out.
The plastic winged roof had to be filed a bit on the front edges to make it sit down flat on the truck as it should.
Primered and then based with Shimrin White, taped off and shot Lemon Yellow and then taped and shot Euro Red.
The plastic wing was scuffed with ScotchBrite pad, then Primered and shot Shimrin White, taped off and trimmed in Black.
Decals and details applied.
My Center Caps for Headlights.
Handpainted Taillights.
Center Caps dress out the bare end axles on the rims.
I created a special design for the wing.
Starting off with making up just one single crescent half moon shape it was then duplicated, stretched, distorted, stacked and combined with itself to create the complex shape.
Bevelling and embossing the design in PhotoShop gives it the Red and Black colors matching the Truck.
The bird on the sides is a Griffin used in lots of German family crests, Coats of Arms, and many World War II military insignias.
Stretched out to fill the sides it looks a bit like an Eagle but it is a Griffin.
You have to ask yourself, "Now how did he get that Red and Yellow Griffin to show up on those Black sides using an InkJet Printer for the Decals?
Just goes to show you the limitless capabilities of an InkJet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Clearcoated with HOK Urethane and a dose of Aztec Gold Pearl-Ex Powder.
You really have to take these cars into the sunlight to watch them light up.
