Sunday June 14th. Slash and SC10 racing on the new 200' x 90' outdoor track at Barnstormers raceway. This should be a blast. We have had over 30 trucks show up for previous Slash Bash races so turnout should be good. If you are looking for some good racing and big jumps, come on by. Don't let the "Bash" name fool you. The racing will be very serious...but fun. Check out site and keep checking for the guidelines sheet that will be posted soon. Here is the link...http://www.barnstormersrc.com/

I missed the first 3, but I am not missing this one. I raced the outdoor track last Friday and it is sweet.

What a great day of racing. They are going to do another Short Course Truck race day in about a month. I will post the info when they set a date.

I qualified 3rd and finished 3rd in the Spec Slash class. I really blew the race by crashing a lot, but I still had fun.

The SC10 class was really weak with only one other SC10 showing up. I gave a set of Goose Bumps mounted on Slash rims to Chris to run on his Slash. With this we had 3 trucks to race. Next race they are thinking about changing the SC10 class to a Roar Short Course class with a 17.5 or 27 turn limit and with any Short Course tire allowed.

Chris is a amazing driver and he took the TQ spot. I qualified 2nd and the 3rd driver went home early so it was just 2 for the 10 minute main. Chris had me at the 1st half of the race and was playing with me, but when his motor started to heat up, he lost some punch, and I took the win. I will take the win any way that I can.

Hope to see more people at the next race.

Barnstormers track is more of a nitro track. Slashes really need a short course track. They are running 8 laps tops on it :( That doesn't sound like too much fun :( The track looks perfect for some nitro action though. The barn does an excellent job when they groom their track and they frequently change the design. I can definitely see there would be some good racing these. Maybe a open modified slash class would be fun on a track that size. Never the less, the track looks gorgeous!

Been having plenty of fun at rampagerc (www.rampagerc.com) As we are racing Sundays and Fridays. The track has recently been re-done and there are normally 2 heats (minimal) of slashes. The SC10 guys want to run with roar rules so they are in their own heat at the moment. They also race 2 and 4 wheel drive buggies, 2wd stadium trucks. The day ends with a gobbler consisting of all the slashes and SC10's in one race (usally 12+ trucks minimal) and the winner gets the pot ($1 buy in). Lots of fun. The computer takes over at 11AM and we are usually done by 4 (3 qualifiers and a main). Check out the site! Rich and the staff at rampagerc have done an excellent job redo'ing the track at THEIR expense!

How can you say that just because we are only getting 8 laps in a race that it is not fun. We will put 12 Slashes on the track at the same time for great racing. Have you raced your Slash on the track at Barnstormers yet? Do you know that the back section of the track gets closed off for the Slash class. I don't think it is fair to make a negative statement about the track...just to put a link to the track that you want people to go to.

And as far as fun goes.....we have a 200' straight and 20 Jumps set up with many different ways to hit them each lap. Big air, rhythm sections and full speed runs with tuns of traction.....sounds like fun to me.

First time I was there we raced the entire track and the few that I talked with didn't like the few laps. With 30 slashes, there has to be a couple people that would want to run a mod class... but I haven't heard of one being setup. It is nice that they "cut down" the track to run short course, but is 42 second laps short course? Maybe I'm misinterpreting what short course actually is, but I was expecting in the 20-30 second range. The barn would be a very technical track for the slash (a good thing). Maybe I need to stop in again before someone tries to shoot me via online forums. I was only there once when they started the slash class and just didn't like how slow it "felt" :(

This is not exactly negative... some people like a race with less than 10 laps and more obstacles. If my revo was race worthy I'd be there in a heartbeat just cause I like open tracks like the barn for things that go fast. Only thing I truly never liked about the barn (which isn't the case anymore) is for years they loved to do a 80 foot straightaway into a jump that if you hit incorrectly you go into the corn field... lol. The barn is by far one of the most well maintained tracks in the northeast, and they have a dang good crew behind it.

I was not trying to "plug" another local track, I merely threw another option into the mix. I wish the local tracks could do what they do in Albany and just have a weekend series where every weekend they are at a different track that is setup differently.

Either way, I will make it to the barn a few times this year, probably mostly to watch. Although there is usually some form of RC car in the back of the car ;)

The next trophy race in on Sept 20th. The race title says TBA. I hope it is the next Slash Bash. They said that they wanted to do one more before the summer is over.

The season closer is October 18th. This is an all day event and is big.

During the winter, the Short Course class is the biggest class that is run. The inside track has a ton of traction and gives way to great door to door racing.
