Very cool car. What's this about three gear ratios though? That's not very much flexibility. Do the DF-03 buggies have limited gearing like this?

The TT-01 version is interesting too. Interesting compromises here. One brings some advantages of an off-road chassis, the other of a touring car.

Sweet looking ride, I love rally cars! :)

Wouldn't worry too much about "3 gear ratios" Obviously it's just listing the ratios available out of the box. It actually even lists 4 ratios in the text above.

Comes with two pinions, two spurs hence the 4 ratios. It's just describing what's in the box. ;)

I've got the 2007 STI (DF03-RA), it's one of my favorite cars to flog around my neighborhood. It looks great and handles in a very scale manner, it's stability actually surprised me. With the stock tires, it has enough traction to tool around and rip up the sidewalks, flower beds, etc - but they're hard enough that it's easy to flick the car in to a drift. Even with the stock motor and esc, the car is more than fast enough to be entertaining (I'm running two cell LiPos). Pitching the car around, even on hot pavement - when the tires should've been at their stickiest - I've never once rolled the car on it's lid in a slide. It'll happen, it just hasn't occurred yet. I've probably got three solid hours of run time on the car, and other than popping a ball cup and ejecting a dogbone (which have since been replaced with Tamiya's universal shafts), it's been trouble-free.
If you're in to RC, and you're a 1:1 rally fan, you should have at least ONE of these cars in your stable. I'll be buying this body set to "update" my car when the time comes, and I'm sure Tamiya will release other makes eventually.
